DLSA Kishtwar organises awareness program on World Social Justice Day
KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 20: As per the calendar of Activities issued by J&K State Legal Services Authority for the month of February, 2024, an awareness programme on “World Social Justice Day” was organised here today in ITI Institute Kishtwar under the able guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) and under the supervision of Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee (Chief Judicial Magistrate ) Kishtwar, Mahmud Anwar Al Nasir
Incharge ITI Irshad Ahmed, Dy. Chief LADC Naveed Khurshid; Assistant LADC. Sanveer Singh ; Advocate Suman Bhandari, Panel Lawyers Vinay Kumar Shan and Sandeep Kumar PLVs and students and staff members were also present.
The resource persons highlighted the significance and importance of World Social Justice Day, observed on 20th of February, every year. The theme for the year 2024 choosen by the United Nation is “Bridging Gaps, Building Alliances” to emphasises the importance of collaboration and partnership in addressing the world’s challenges.
The Chairman TLSC Kishtwar, who was the Chief Guest of the programme, provided a deep insight to audience on Social Justice and emphasized its importance for the eradication of the discrimination, unfairness, inequality within and among societies. He also highlighted the significance of understanding the Constitution, Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties in achieving these goals to make the country developed.
The Deputy Chief LADC, while addressing the participants, emphasized on skill development and employability of Persons with disabilities. He referred to Divyangjan Rozgar Scheme under the framework of PM Daksh-DEPwD including Divyang Jan Koshal Vikas and Divyangjan Rozgar Setu, which aim at providing skilled training and employment opportunities to the PwDs.
The participants were also informed about the digital platform WWW.PMDAKSH.DEPWD.GOV.IN wherein information is available in the digital form regarding the job providers, employers and the skills training in 200 plus skill development programs.
The other resource persons included panel lawyers and Advocates. The students of ITI also aired their views on the Subject.
The resource persons spoke about the historical perspective and concept of Social Justice and its importance. They highlighted the constitutional and statutory provisions regarding the concept of Social Justice and also listed the various Governmental Schemes for the welfare of the public so as to achieve the Social Justice and equality.
The idea behind celebrating the day is to foster and achieve the goal of social justice through suitably designed national and international policies as social development and social justice are indispensable for achieving and maintaining peace and security within and among nations.
At the end of the event, prizes were presented to the students who spoke on the topic.
