DLSA Ramban conducts 2nd meeting of UTRC; discusses 9 cases, recommends 1 for early release
RAMBAN, JULY 15: As per NALSA’s annual calendar of activities for the year 2024, the District Legal Services Authority Ramban under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority today conducted the 2nd meeting of the Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) at District Court Complex, Ramban.
The meeting was held in order to expedite the identification and review of prisoners belonging to district Ramban, who are lodged in district Jail Udhampur and are eligible to be considered for release as well as to accelerate the regular functioning of the committee and review the state of all eligible under-trial prisoners (UTPs).
The meeting was chaired by Chairman (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Ranbir Singh Jasrotia, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ramban, along with other members of the Under Trial Review Committee.
The committee reviewed the cases of the eligible UTPs shortlisted by the Secretary (Sub-Judge), District Legal Services Authority, Ramban, Anjana Rajput. The committee took up and discussed 09-cases, however, only one case was recommended for early release.
Along with the Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ramban, the meeting was attended by Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Ramban Anjana Rajput, Additional Deputy Commissioner; Ramban Varunjeet Charak, and Additional Superintendent of Police, Ramban Gourav Mahajan.
