DLSA Samba organises interactive cum awareness program for PLVs
SAMBA, MAY 27: To provide an overview of the role of Para Legal Volunteers and also the code of ethics which the PLVs are required to adhere to, District Legal Services Authority Samba, as per the directions of Mr. Yesh Paul Kotwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Samba (Pr. District & Sessions Judge Samba) organised one day interactive cum training session for the PLVs of DLSA Samba here in the Conference Hall of District Court Complex.
The training session was presided over by Chairman District Legal Services Authority, (Pr. District & Sessions Judge Samba), who sensitized the Para Legal Volunteers as to how they can inform the people, especially those belonging to marginalized sections of the society about their constitutional as well as Statutory Rights.
The Para Legal Volunteers were also sensitized as to how besides Legal Aid Services they can also provide other services and assistance to the poor people in their respective legal aid clinics by giving initial advice on a problem, assistance in drafting, representations and notices, filling up of forms for the various benefits available under different government and other social security schemes.
The Para Legal Volunteers were also sensitized by the Worthy Chair as to what exactly are the functions/duties of the Para Legal Volunteers deputed both at front office and different Legal Aid Clinics as per ‘’The National Legal Services Authority (Free and Competent Legal Services) Regulations, 2010’’ and ‘’The National Legal Services Authority (Legal Aid Clinics) Regulations, 2011’’. This interactive cum training session was attended by all the Para Legal Volunteers of District Legal Services Authority Samba.
