DLSA Srinagar, CHSS Nowgam organize cultural event at “Ahata-e-Waqar” Chanapora
SRINAGAR, June 15: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with the Candid Higher Secondary School Nowgam, Srinagar, today organized a mesmerizing cultural event in the honour and dignity of senior citizens at “Ahata-e-Waqar” (a day care and recreation centre for senior citizens), Chanpora Srinagar.
The event aimed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir while fostering a sense of belonging and spreading joy among the elderly residents.
The cultural event held at Ahata-e-Waqar was a vibrant and heart warming gathering that brought together the senior citizens of Ahata-e-Waqar, Staff of DLSA, talented students from Candid Higher Secondary School Srinagar, Para legal volunteers, department of social welfare, Govt. of J&K and members of the community. It was an occasion to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of the elderly to society, while also showcasing the immense talent and creativity of the younger generation.
The program featured a captivating array of performances, including Naat Sharif, traditional Kashmiri music, dance, poetry recitations, and theatrical presentations.
The students from Candid Higher Secondary School Srinagar presented a variety of cultural performances, demonstrating their dedication and skill in preserving and promoting the region’s rich cultural heritage.
“Ahata-e-Waqar,” was transformed into a festive ambiance, with colourful decorations, warm lighting, and an atmosphere filled with joy and laughter. The senior citizens were delighted by the lively performances, as the students showcase their talent with unwavering passion and respect for the elders.
The senior citizens of “Ahata-e-Waqar” expressed their heartfelt appreciation and joy for the cultural event, remarking that it had brought back memories of their youth and renewed their spirits.
