DLSA Srinagar, D&FCO conduct an Awareness programme on ‘Food Safety Act’
SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 20: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, in collaboration with Drug & Food Control Organisation (Food Safety wing Srinagar) Wednesday conducted an awareness programme on ‘Food Safety Act’ and a comprehensive inspection of canteens/Food Courts, etc. within the District Court premises.
This initiative aims to enhance food safety standards and ensure compliance among food service providers operating in public facilities.
This initiative was held under the guidance of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman DLSA/Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar, and the supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Srinagar.
The inspection was carried out in presence of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-Judge/Secretary DLSA Srinagar; Fida Hussain Nayek, Municipal Magistrate, Srinagar; Yameen Ul Nabi, Assistant Commissioner, Drug & Food Control Organisation; Chief Administrative Officer, District Court Srinagar, Food Safety Officers, officials, Legal Aid Defence Counsels, Para Legal Volunteers from the DLSA.
During the inspection, improvement notices were issued to the owners and staff members of canteen holders and the food courts etc. These notices aimed to address various compliance issues, ensuring that all food service providers meet the safety standards laid out in the Food Safety Act. This proactive measure underscores the commitment of the DLSA and its collaborators to safeguard public health.
The primary objective of this initiative was to raise awareness about food safety regulations and to educate canteen operators about the importance of adhering to these standards.
