DM bans construction in 100 meter area around Tourist Destination Lal Draman

DODA, August 01: District Magistrate Doda, in exercise of the powers vested under section 144 of Cr.P.C., has banned construction around 100 meters of Lal Draman Tourist Destination

“To protect the said tourist destination, no private / government construction shall be allowed in the meadow and around 100 meters of the tourist destination of Lal draman Lal Draman without the prior approval of the District Administration” an order issued by the DM stated. The order further states that “It has been brought to the notice of the administration that constructions are being made in and around the tourist destination of Lal Draman which is reducing the aesthetic beauty of the said tourist destination. This mindless, unplanned construction may cause damage to the Lal Draman meadow and the biodiversity.

 In view of the above, I, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, District Magistrate, Doda, in exercise of the powers vested in me under section 144 of Cr.P.C., do hereby order that to protect the said tourist destination, no private / govt. construction shall be allowed in the meadow and around 100 meters of the tourist destination of Lal draman without the prior approval of the District Administration.”

 Any violation in this behalf shall be dealt strictly under the relevant provisions of law.
