Doda Admin acclaims Martyr’s ardently; receives Amrit Kalashs from 17-blocks & 3-MCs with grand celebrations

DODA, October 21: A remarkable event unfolded in Doda as part of the 2nd phase of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” (MMMD) campaign, with grand Amrit Kalash Yatra, from Dakbunglow Doda to Sports Stadium Doda after receiving Amrit Kalash from all the 17-blocks and 3-MCs.

The event was organised and celebrated with enthusiastic participation of thousands of people, including families of Martyrs, BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councillors, Officers, Sports persons, Eminent persons, Bollywood actors, Business personalities, Men, Women, Elderly, Youth, and Children.

The zealous crowd, along with a colourful patriotic cultural program at Sports Stadium Doda, added a fervent spirit to the event. The artists and students paid tribute through songs and performances, creating an atmosphere of pride and remembrance.

At Sports Stadium Doda, the floral tribute/ wreath laying ceremony was held, where DC Vishesh Mahajan, SSP Abdul Qayoom, other dignitaries paid homage to the great heroes of the district. During the campaign, the sacred soil from villages was collected in Amrit Kalash pots (Urns). These pots, beautifully decorated and representing 17 blocks and Municipal Council Doda and Muncipal Committees of Bhaderwah and Thathri, were brought together at the Dak Bungalow Doda, from where the Kalashs (urns) were ceremoniously brought to Sports Stadium where the sacred soil was mixed in a single Kalash (Urn) representing the holy soil of the motherland from District Doda.

The holy soil of the district shall now travel to UT capital Jammu before reaching national capital and becoming a part of Amrit Vatika in Dehli.

Under the supervision of District Development Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan and Senior Superintendent of Police Doda Abdul Qayyum, the programme was conducted to showcase the district’s commitment to remember and immortalise the martyrs for their unconditional sacrifice for our safety, peace and harmony.

The Amrit Kalash Yatra symbolized unity and respect for the sacrifices made by these heroes. It also aims to develop a sense of pride and honour being citizens of the great Bharat.
