Doda Administration commemorates Jammu and Kashmir’s UT Foundation Day with a Colorful Mega Event
DODA, October 31: The district administration of Doda, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, orchestrated a vibrant mega celebration event in the Doda Community Hall to mark the Union Territory (UT) Foundation Day of Jammu and Kashmir. The day holds immense historical significance as Jammu and Kashmir transitioned to Union Territory status on October 31, 2019, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the revered Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The UT Foundation Day was observed with great enthusiasm and pride throughout the state.
The festivities kicked off with a pledge ceremony, led by Deputy Commissioner, emphasizing the values of unity and integration. An enthralling video showcasing the tourism potential of the Doda district, known as “Adhbhut Doda,” was unveiled at the event. This video highlights the comprehensive progress achieved in the district over the past four years.
To add to the vibrant atmosphere, a colorful cultural program was organized by the Academy of Art, Culture, and Language Sub-Office Doda.
The Government departments set up stalls at the Community Hall, showcasing the latest online services, schemes, and initiatives introduced by the UT government, all aimed at benefiting the public and promoting prosperity and welfare.
This mega celebration of the UT Foundation Day brought together representatives from the district administration, the police department, the education department, and students from both government and private schools. It was a momentous event that not only marked the history of Jammu and Kashmir but also reflected the region’s progress and its unwavering commitment to unity and development. This event was also witnessed online across all panchayats and 500 other locations, and the celebration had been ongoing for the past six days, culminating today in a grand and colorful event.
