Doda Administration organises International Yoga Day
DODA, June 08: The District Administration Doda, in collaboration with the Health & Medical Education Department, J&K Directorate of AYUSH, on Thursday hosted a morning yoga session as a prelude to the upcoming International Yoga Day falling on June 21.
The event aimed to promote yoga among officers and officials for their physical and mental well-being.
The session marked as a fantastic start to the Yoga Mahotsav 2023, celebrating the glorious 75 years of Indian independence.
The theme for this year’s Yoga Day is “VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM” in Sanskrit, which emphasizes the idea that all living beings on Earth are one big family.
During the morning yoga session, participants were treated to a series of yogic exercises, expertly demonstrated by skilled yoga practitioners.
The routine included chair pose, tree pose, bridge pose, corpse pose, bow pose, camel pose and the popular yoga technique, Kapalbhati.
Renowned yoga expert, Yogi Anil, and yoga instructor, Faizan, guided the entire session. Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, graced the occasion alongside other district officers.
The yoga session served as a platform for officials to rejuvenate their mind and body while commemorating the International Day of Yoga, which will be celebrated on June 21, 2023 as the 9th edition of this global event.
