Doda: BOCA discusses petitions seeking building, renovation permissions
DODA, October 8: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Vishesh Mahajan today presided over a significant meeting of the Building Operation Controlling Authority (BOCA) in Doda.
The primary agenda of the world gathering was to review applications seeking permission for the construction of residential and commercial buildings, as well as the repair and renovation of existing structures within the jurisdiction of the Bhadarwah Development Authority (BDA), in accordance with the Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
Each case for residential, commercial, and renovation was scrutinized with specific focus on the mandatory No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
The DC emphasized the importance of adhering to NOC requirements and directed for formation of a committee to verify nine cases under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) on the ground.
Furthermore, the DDC called for the confirmation of NOCs for renovation cases and reviewed 12 residential cases. However, all residential cases were rejected for the absence of required NOCs.
The DC urged the concerned officers to submit fresh applications for all cases received before August 1, 2023. It was stressed that no construction should proceed in violation of established regulations.
In total, 34 cases were meticulously discussed, including 12 residential cases, 9 PMAY-related cases, and 3 renovation cases. Out of the 12 residential cases, 6 were approved, while 2 out of 10 commercial residential cases received approval.
The DC directed the CEO of BDA to conduct regular BOCA meetings for timely consideration of citizens’ applications. The CEO was also tasked with re-verifying documents, inspecting locations, and geotagging photographs to prevent any misinformation or false claims by applicants.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including CEO-BDA Navdeep Wazir, the Town Planner, Urban planner, and other concerned individuals.
