Doda police apprehend bovine smuggler, rescue animals from Gandoh
Doda Police apprehended a suspected bovine smuggler and rescued two bovine animals in the Gandoh area on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024.
Acting on a tip-off, a police party from Gandoh Police Station was patrolling near Soti and Dudwar villages. They received information that a smuggler was illegally transporting bovine animals from the Dudwar area towards Kashmir, likely for sale.
The police swiftly set up a naka and stopped a suspect who was indeed transporting two bovine animals without the required permission from the authorities. The animals were rescued, and the suspect was apprehended.
An FIR (First Information Report) numbered 15/2024 has been registered at the Gandoh Police Station under relevant sections of the law. An investigation into the case is underway.
