Don’t make people scape-goats for sake of development: Abrol to LG admin

‘Youth holds potential to bring change in system’: Dr Vikas

Jammu: 28-07-24: Provincial Joint Secretary, JKNC Ankush Abrol today reiterated the resolve of NC leadership to provide ample job opportunities to unemployed youth and curtail the inflation, as and when the party forms Government in J&K.

While interacting with youth, Ankush Abrol assured the youth that NC will not leave any stone unturned for the cause of unemployed youth.” NC has always worked for youth and its past rule in J&K is a testimony to that.”

Flaying the anti-public as well as anti-youth policies adopted by the BJP party, Abrol said that all the promises made by the BJP party have fallen flat with educated pushed into deep unemployment crisis due to policy paralysis of BJP Govt.

“The administration is imposing tax after tax on the people but has failed to mitigate their sufferings which include rocketing prices of essential commodities”, he added. He said that the National Conference will oppose all the anti-people policies of the government and will fight tooth and nail to bring justice.

He alleged that the smart city project with crores of rupees is a big scandal as all is based on paper work, but on ground nothing much visible has been done vis-a-vis huge allocation of funds.

Abrol further said that the present government has increased the electricity bills since the last 5 years but there is no regular power supply. Despite the humid and hot weather, the present LG administration is not worried to minimise the problems of the public. He added that scarcity of electricity leads to drinking water scarcity with regular interruption of water supply, he bemoaned.

In his address, Dr Vikas Sharma Coordinator Jammu District (Urban) and Zonal Secretary highlighted the plight of unemployed youth and sought employment packages for them. He also called for financial assistance/stipend to unemployed youth till they get a job or establish their business.

Dr Vikas also said that before 5th August 2019 Jammu used to be called as City of temples when people were getting all basic facilities like drinking water, power and clean roads. But, sadly, after August 5th 2019 Jammu city was painted as Smart City with people now facing tremendous problems with regard to drinking water supply, electricity as even roads connecting streets are in broken conditions. Instead different taxes are being imposed upon the public on the pretext of providing amenities, but there is none to listen for redressal of public grievances. Therefore, the public is appealed to apply the sagacity of mind before using their vote in the coming assembly elections.

While sharing the achievements and good work done by National Conference during its governance, Dr. Vikas Sharma disclosed that during NC Government when Omar Abdullah was Chief Minister, he provided Degree College in each tehsil of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir as even buildings and faculty were also made available to start functioning of colleges. But this government did nothing to improve the structural facilities in the colleges, he added.

Those who spoke on the occasion include, Arunpal Singh NCSU Provincial Working President, Massrat Malik, Vinod Kumar, Abishek Uppal and others.
