DPO inspects Anganwadi Centres of Poshan Project Nagseni

KISHTWAR, June 24:   District Programme Officer (DPO) Poshan District Kishtwar, Dr. Rishi Kumar Sharma today conducted spot inspection of several Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) within the Nagseni Project.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the functioning of the AWCs, specifically examining the availability of toilet and drinking water facilities, as well as measuring the height and weight of the beneficiaries.

During the inspection, Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma engaged with the beneficiaries, interacting with them to gain insights into their nutrition procurement experiences. He emphasized the importance of conducting mass awareness programmes to ensure that the various schemes offered by the department reach the intended recipients and achieve the desired results.

DPO urged the implementation of these schemes in a focused manner to maximize their impact.

Furthermore, Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma held detailed discussions with the concerned staff members regarding the successful implementation of the various deliverables and schemes offered by the Department. He diligently reviewed the records and received updated status reports and feedback.

Stressing the importance of meeting targets within the stipulated time frame, DPO urged all stakeholders to work diligently towards achieving the desired goals.

Dr Rishi Kumar Sharma also directed the functionaries of the AWCs to organize community-based events, such as Poshan Abhiyan, on a monthly basis. These events would serve as platforms to raise awareness about basic health principles among the stakeholders involved.
