DPS, Kathua Students Visit Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Science at Central University of Jammu
Jammu, 29 August 2024: In an enriching educational endeavor, students from Delhi Public School (DPS) Kathua, accompanied by their faculty, visited the prestigious Satish Dhawan Centre for Space Science at Central University of Jammu. This visit aimed to provide the students with firsthand exposure to advanced scientific research and high-end laboratory facilities.
During the visit, students explored the High-End Characterization Laboratory, gaining insights into the critical role of material testing in ensuring durability, safety, and efficiency. The hands-on experience allowed them to understand various scientific principles and the importance of testing materials for toxicity, corrosion resistance, and thermal stability. These are crucial factors in the development of materials that can withstand harsh environments, particularly in aerospace and space applications.
Students of classes 11th and 12th were particularly engaged, as they learned about the applications of various high-end equipment used in material characterization.
