Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia slams opposition, assures strong security measures in J&K

Dr. Abhijeet Jasrotia, Spokesperson, J&K BJP accompanied by Dr. Pradeep Mahotra, Media Incharge J&K BJP addressed a press conference today at the party headquarters in Jammu, outlining the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir and the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain stability.

Jasrotia highlighted the seriousness of the Modi government over the present security situation in Jammu & Kashmir. He said that the BJP is committed to the upkeep and promote the peace and prosperity in Jammu & Kashmir, stressing on the reduction in the terrorism related incidents and absence of repetitive stone-pelting incidents.

Dr. Jasrotia stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is personally overseeing the situation, with security agencies and top officials in Delhi closely monitoring developments. He highlighted that Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma recently met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure peace. Sharma also voiced concerns over the security situation in Jammu following recent incidents, said Jasrotia.

Dr. Pradeep Mahotra informed that BJP’s J&K unit president, Shri Sat Sharma (CA), is currently in Kashmir to directly engage with those affected by the latest security challenges. Both leaders emphasized that BJP, from the Home Minister to the grassroots, is working in unison to address the situation.

Taking a sharp political stance, Dr. Jasrotia strongly criticized Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s recent remarks, calling them “unfortunate.” He accused Abdullah’s party of historical failures that led to decades of turmoil in J&K, particularly referencing the disputed 1987 elections. He also targeted Tariq Hamid Karra and the INDI alliance, accusing them of being complicit in past bloodshed.

“Security situation in Jammu & Kashmir is far better than that was in the earlier rule of NC government. He made a quote to the heinous murder of Tika Lal Taploo, Girija Tikoo, and others and said that the Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homeland during NC’s tenure. He accused NC leaders as the responsible persons for the 1.5 lakh graves in the region. Farooq sahib must give answer to the turmoil spanning 3 decades. As the Former CM he should have controlled the situation from getting worse.,” said Dr. Jasrotia.

Quoting a powerful verse, Dr. Jasrotia remarked:

“Mera qatil hi mera munsif hai, yeh kya mere haq mein faisla dega.”

Expressing confidence in the Jammu & Kashmir Police, Dr. Jasrotia praised its commitment to work for the safety of the people in the hostile situations and assured that the newly appointed IGP Jammu is a capable officer who will swiftly address the recent security concerns. He also announced his plans to meet senior police officials to discuss further strategies.

OBC leader Sunil Prajapati and senior leader Paramjeet Pummy were also present at the conference, reinforcing BJP’s unified approach in tackling the current security situation.
