Dr. Ambedkar got true honour during Modi govt: Sat Sharma

Akhnoor 14 April: A series of transformative steps has been taken under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership that have given true honour to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision and ideals.

Sat Sharma CA, President, Jammu and Kashmir BJP, said this while addressing a massive gathering at Akhnoor town, along with local MLA and prominent leaders.

Sat Sharma CA said that although Congress was in power at the centre for decades together after independence but unfortunately Dr. Ambedkar did not get due recognition for his services to the nation during all these years.  It was only under the Modi government that a concerted national effort was made to institutionalize his memory and ideals. Prime Minister Modi has often stated that Babasaheb’s life was devoted to the upliftment of the marginalized and that honouring him means ensuring dignity, opportunity, and justice for every Indian.

Sat Sharma CA said that a landmark initiative has been the development of the “Panchteerth” — five key places associated with Ambedkar’s life, now developed into national monuments. These include his birthplace in Mhow (Madhya Pradesh), the place of his education in London, Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur, Mahaparinirvan Sthal in Delhi, and Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai. These sites have been beautified, developed with modern infrastructure, and promoted as national pilgrimage destinations for followers and admirers of Babasaheb. Modi government has also declared April 14 as national holiday.

Kuldeep Sharma, Akhnoor district President, while speaking on the occasion, said that merely remembering Dr. Ambedkar on his birth or death anniversary is not enough. The real tribute to a multi-faceted personality like Ambedkar is to carry forwards his ideals and vision of equality and justice to all.

Mohan Lal Bhagat, MLA Akhnoor, said that Ambedkar Jayanti events highlight Ambedkar’s vision of social harmony, empowerment, and constitutional values. He said that under PM Modi’s leadership, Ambedkar is not just remembered but is actively integrated into governance and policy. He further said that the Modi government has ensured that Babasaheb Ambedkar receives not just ceremonial praise but real and lasting honour. Today, millions across the nation acknowledge that Ambedkar’s true recognition has come under Modi government.

Former MLA Rajeev Sharma said that Dr. Ambedkar did not allow social hurdles come in his way of acquiring education and move on the path of progress. Dr. Ambedkar proved his ability to reach respectable positions and set new example of rising despite odds.

Brijeshwar Rana, Suraj Singh, Manmohan Singh, Daljit Singh Chib, Jagdish Bhagat, Suresh Sharma, Bhushan Bral, Shakti Bhagat, Surinder Singh, Sushma Sharma, Nisha Devi and others were present.
