NC government cheated J&K residents on free electricity promise

Dr. Narinder Singh, MLA RS Pura-Jammu South and BJP National Secretary, today asked the Nc government to provide free electricity upto 200 units and waive off excessive electric bills in Jammu and Kashmir in a time bound manner.

He also questioned whether the NC government has worked out/assessed financial implications to provide different reliefs promised to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

He stated that during the Assembly elections 2024, NC assured many tempting promises to the people of Jammu & Kashmir to secure their votes. He said that NC made all these promises with a clear lack of vision and any roadmap and now is adopting a total U-turn on those promises with the people.

He stated that the free electricity, and waive-off on the bills under amnesty is also such an important public concerning issue, and now the NC government should show its grit and take the essential steps to fulfill its promises.

He said that the NC government backed off on its promises on free electricity up to 200 units to all the residents of Jammu & Kashmir by restricting it to the AAY population. He also said that they cheated to the extreme by restricting the covered population with the rider of linking it with PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijlee Yojana in place.

He called for the reduction in the principal amount of the bills along with the regular amenity on the interest amount and then questioned the government that what steps it has taken to fulfill at least those half-promises according to their budget in respect of electricity.
