Dr Pawan Kotwal, Advisor UT Ladakh launches 9 Mobile Veterinary Clinic Services for Ladakh
Leh, July 31, 2024: Advisor to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor LG, UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal launched Mobile Veterinary Clinic Services of the Animal Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh funded under the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme of the MoF, DAHD, Government of India to Boost Animal Healthcare in UT Ladakh at the Civil Secretariat, Leh.
The initiative of this Mobile Veterinary Clinic Vans aims to provide quality and doorstep veterinary services to livestock in remote and inaccessible areas of UT Ladakh, benefiting rural communities and promoting Animal Husbandry.
The Mobile Veterinary Clinic Vans are equipped with modern medical equipment and staffed by trained veterinarians and para vets with a helpline number of 1962.
The Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal emphasized the importance of animal healthcare in Ladakh’s economic development and food security. He stated these mobile clinics will bridge the gap in veterinary services, ensuring timely medical attention for livestock and improving their productivity and health care. The initiative is a significant step towards improving the lives of rural communities and promoting sustainable development in UT Ladakh, he added.
Secretary of IT, UT Ladakh, Amit Sharma; Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, Joint Director Animal Husbandry Department; Joint Director of Sheep Husbandry Department, Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Leh; and other officials of the Animal Husbandry Department were also present during the flag-off ceremony.
