Dr. Tahir Choudhary advocates Improved Healthcare for Elderly in J&K

J&K BJP spokesperson Dr. Tahir Choudhary has called for enhanced healthcare facilities for elderly citizens across Jammu and Kashmir.

Expressing concern over the serious health challenges faced by senior citizens in the Union Territory, Dr. Choudhary urged the government to prioritize regular medical check-ups for the aged population.

“Elderly people in Jammu and Kashmir often struggle to access timely and adequate healthcare services. It is crucial that the administration ensures their well-being by facilitating mandatory medical tests twice a year,” Dr. Choudhary stated.

He emphasized that these medical check-ups should be conducted either in government medical colleges or in registered private healthcare institutions to ensure comprehensive coverage and should be provided free of cost.

Dr. Choudhary urged Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Health Minister Sakina Itoo to take immediate steps to implement these measures for the welfare of elderly citizens.

“Our senior citizens have contributed immensely to society. Providing them with accessible and efficient healthcare services is our moral and social responsibility,” he added.

Dr. Choudhary further stressed the need for awareness campaigns to educate elderly citizens about preventive care, chronic disease management, and available government health schemes.

He also urged authorities to set up dedicated health camps in rural and remote areas to bridge the healthcare gap faced by marginalized communities.
