Drug Control Authorities close down 2 medical shops in Kulgam Town

KULGAM, FEBRUARY 03: The Drug Control Authorities Kulgam today closed down two medical shops in Kulgam town for violating conditions of licenses and other mandatory directives regarding computerized billing system and issuance of cash memos/invoices. 

It was informed by the authorities that many other pharmacies were also inspected and statutory drug samples were lifted for analysis purposes to ascertain their quality parameters.

The concerned officers added that intensive inspections were carried out in Kulgam, Chawalgam and other areas on the directions from the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam during the District Level Committee under the Narco Coordination Centre.

He added that such inspections are routinely carried out as mandated under law and in compliance to the directions from the Drug Controller where strict guidelines have already been passed to all medical establishments to adhere with safe dispensing of essential medicine including Scheduled formulations.

It was given out that the Drug Control Organisation has already sensitized chemists to adopt a robust system for maintenance of records and CCTV surveillance to plug in gaps to avoid misuse of essential life saving scheduled formulations.
