SHOPIAN, MARCH 22: In a decisive action to ensure compliance with drug regulations, the Drug Control Authority Shopian today conducted a series of inspections across various medical establishments in Shopian town under the directives of the NCORD meeting.

During the inspections, around 15 medical shops were scrutinized for adherence to licensing conditions and proper maintenance of purchase and sale records of scheduled formulations.

One medical shop was sealed on the spot for gross violations of licensing conditions, while five other establishments were served show cause notices for non-compliance.

The inspection teams also randomly reviewed CCTV footage from various establishments to verify adherence to regulatory norms and ensure that no violations occurred in the sale of prescription drugs.

The Drug Administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against the misuse of habit-forming drugs and has implemented strict measures, including prosecutions, suspension, and cancellation of licenses, to curb illegal practices in the pharmaceutical sector.
