Drug Peddler held with 1 Kg 76 grams of Ganja, 60 grams of Charas, cash ₹2,08,930/- recovered by Police Station RS Pura, Jammu
Jammu, 07.09.2024 Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under Operation SANJEEVANI, R.S. Pura Police achieved a major success by recovering 1 Kg 76 grams of Ganja, 60 grams of Charas, and cash of ₹2,08,930/- from a drug peddler in the area under the jurisdiction of PS R.S Pura.
A Police team of PS R.S. Pura, led by SHO PS R.S. Pura, assisted by police officials, on 06.09.2024 during routine patrolling, established a Naka at Badyal Morh, near Lovely Palace, and intercepted a suspected person on a scooter bearing registration No. JK02Q-2960, later identified as Sunil Kumar @ Punjabi, S/o Om Parkash, Caste Mahajan, R/o Kotli Arjun Singh, Tehsil R.S. Pura, District Jammu.
During the search, 1 Kg 76 grams of Ganja, 60 grams of Charas, and cash of ₹2,08,930/- were recovered from the diggi of the scooter. A case FIR No. 194/2024 U/S 8/20/27(a)/60 NDPS Act stands registered at PS R.S. Pura, and the accused has been arrested.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the Jammu Police to curb drug peddling, aiming to eliminate the circulation of illicit substances in society. The arrest is expected to provide leads to further sources and networks involved in drug trafficking, reinforcing the commitment to make the region drug-free.
