Drug peddler nabbed with Heroin, motorcycle seized in Kathua’s Mirpur Jagoo

KATHUA, 12 January: Acting tough against the drug dealings, Kathua Police recovered/seized Approx. 5.75 grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at the Mirpur Jagoo area of PS Kathua and one drug peddler was arrested alongwith a vehicle seized on the spot.

On 11 January 2024, information was received from reliable sources at PP Nagri that one person namely Mukesh Kumar @Babu S/o Harbans Lal R/o Ward No. 03 Nagri Parole Tehsil Nagri District Kathua indulged in the illegal trade of selling narcotics like contraband substance.

Acting swiftly police team led by IC PP Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua & SHO PS Kathua during naka/ checking in its jurisdictional area at Mirpur Jagoo noticed said person who was enrouted on the vehicle (motorcycle) bearing Reg. No. PB06AJ-3963 which was signalled to stop for checking purposes.

During checking, approx. 5.75 grams of heroin like narcotics was recovered from the possession of said person namely Mukesh Kumar @ Babu S/o Harbans Lal R/o Ward No. 03 Nagri Parole District Kathua.

Thereafter all the recovered narcotics i.e. approx. 5.75 grams of Heroin alongwith a vehicle was seized and said person was arrested by the police party on the spot. In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 13/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at P/S Kathua and further investigation was taken up.
