Drug peddler’s property worth Rs 15 lakh attached in Baramulla
In a crackdown on drug trafficking, the Baramulla police attached a single-story residential house belonging to a notorious drug peddler on Wednesday. The house is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 15.00 lakhs.

The accused, identified as Afroza Begum, alias Affri, wife of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, is a resident of Ganie Hamam but currently resides in Trumgund Hygam, Sopore in Baramulla.
According to police, the action was taken under sections 68-E and 68-F(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. These sections deal with the attachment and forfeiture of property acquired through illegal means like drug trafficking.
The police identified Begum as a “notorious drug peddler” and said the attached property was allegedly acquired through drug trafficking proceeds. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
