Drug sale outlets inspected at Hajin, Bandipora

BANDIPORA DECEMBER 28: On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed, an inspection of the Drug sale retail outlet operating in Hajin area of Bandipora District was conducted by a team of Officers of Drugs Control Department, Legal Metrology Department, Food Safety Department, Revenue Department and Police.

The inspection was carried out to verify that every firm that is involved in sale of drugs are operating under valid license and following the directions issued under NASHA Mukt Bharat like installation of CCTVs and CBS in their shops, maintaining the records of NRx drugs or Schedule H1 drugs, maintaining the conditions of licenses issued to them under provisions of Drug Laws.

The team also checked the  maintenance  record of sale/purchase  of drugs, Selling drugs under given MRP rates, observing other provisions with respect to Legal Metrology department, possess FSSAI registration for the items coming under the purview of Food Safety and Standards of India and selling Scheduled drugs against proper prescription issued by Registered Medical Practitioners (RMP).

The team inspected as many as 15 shops around CHC Hajin as well as in the main market of Naidkhai and Shah Gund area.

An official informed that no violation has been found with respect to conditions of the licence(s) as well as maintenance of sale/purchase records of NRx drugs/Schedule H1 and Scheduled H drugs.

The officers from Drugs Control department directed the concerned to install CCTV Cameras in their premises and instructions were also issued to install Computer Billing System (CBS) on their counters.

The team also checked the Food Safety Department’s registration and found satisfactory results on all counters.

The officers from Legal Metrology department found 01 violation on these counters and collected a fine of Rs 1000 in this regard against the violator.

The firms operating in the Hajin Area were also directed to install flex boards outside their premises along with green crosses.
