Drugs Awareness Program organised in District Samba
SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 21: The People’s Forum for Human Values-an NGO hosted a remarkable Drugs Awareness Program and environmental awareness program, here today.
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
SSP Samba, Benam Tosh, BDC Chairman Vijay Tagotra, NGO members and locals were also present on the occasion.
The event took place at the prestigious Shahid Major Rohit Kumar Verma Government Higher Secondary School in Ghagwal and witnessed the participation of Sarpanch Jagram Sharma and Jiya Lal Verma among other prominent figures.
In his address, the DC paid tributes to the Late Major Rohit Verma, a valiant martyr and emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from the sacrifices made by such heroes. He highlighted the significance of the occasion and its purpose, which is to create awareness among people about environmental conservation and the perils of drug abuse.
DC Sharma lauded the People’s Forum for Human Values NGO for their relentless efforts in organizing events of such importance for the community. He acknowledged that raising awareness about critical issues like drug abuse is paramount in building a healthier and safer society.
In addition to the informative sessions, a thought-provoking debate competition on drug abuse was held, where young minds passionately discussed the various aspects and challenges associated with this issue. The competition not only encouraged critical thinking but also provided a platform for the youth to voice their concerns.
Furthermore, an important highlight of the event was the “Nasha Mukt Pledge” taken by all attendees, symbolizing their collective commitment to a drug-free and healthier community. This pledge serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility in combating drug abuse.
