DWEW Ganderbal organizes Awareness programme at Wangath

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 09: DHEW, Mission Shakti Ganderbal today organised an awareness programme regarding Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and women centric schemes at Boys Higher Secondary School Wangath block Kangan.

Speakers from DHEW Ganderbal OSC Ganderbal, Women helpline 181 and Drug Controller department Ganderbal on the occasion threw light on the agendas of the programme.

NMBA, aimed at creating a substance-abuse-free society, focuses on awareness, prevention, and rehabilitation programs, fostering a healthier and more prosperous community.

During the programme, speakers stressed on Drug abuse, its ill effects and treatment.

Speakers urged the participants to fight against social evils as it is our collective responsibility to fight against the menace.

On the occasion, the students were asked not to indulge in drug abuse and other social evils and instead be role models in the field of education, sports and other activities.

The students were made aware about the causes, consequences and treatment and the role of rehabilitation centres where treatment is done through various therapeutic interventions.

The DHEW team also imparted the awareness regarding working and functioning of the District Hub for Empowerment of Women Mission Shakti Ganderbal at district level. The team raised awareness of different women empowerment schemes.
