Distributes Rs.05 Cr among beneficiaries
ANANTNAG, AUGUST 09: An awareness camp cum welfare distribution function was today organised by the Department of Labour Anantnag, here.
The function was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, SF. Hamid and attended by a large number of construction workers.
On the occasion, the DC released an amount of Rs.5.053 crore as education assistance among 9348 beneficiaries and 16 Death Compensation cases to the dependents of the deceased registered workers.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the District Administration is committed to secure the interests of both unorganized and organized workers through various schemes of the Government like Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan, e-Shram etc.
He also directed the district officers of the Labour Department to ensure saturation of all labour welfare schemes by organizing special drives and registration camps.
Concurrently, a training cum awareness session was also held to impart knowledge to the participants about various welfare schemes pertaining to the labour sector.
Assistant Labour Commissioner Anantnag, Peer Zameer Ahmad Mehboob gave the training to the workers about different schemes run by the department for building & other construction workers and make them aware on how to register and avail benefits and spread the message to their nears and dears.
Among others, Labour Officer, Labour Inspector, Manager J&K Bank Wanpoh and other staff members of the department were present on the occasion.
