Eid-Ul-Azha 2023 arrangements finalised at Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, June 22: To finalize the necessary arrangements in connection with the ensuing Eid-Ul-Azha festival, a meeting of concerned District Officers was held today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Sachin Kumar Vaishya.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia; Additional SP, Anwar-Ul-Haq and other District Officers, besides representatives of civil society.
Detailed discussions were held on various arrangements regarding the celebration of Eid-Ul-Azha especially the availability of Drinking water supply; uninterrupted power supply, First Aid, Fire tenders, quality and checking of rates of eatables and proper sanitation in the city.
The DC directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of water supply, First Aid, Fire tenders, uninterrupted power supply, security arrangements and proper cleanliness in the district.
Sheep Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to ensure sufficient availability and inspection of quality of mutton during the festival. Municipality was directed to ensure proper sanitation arrangements in the towns.
To keep a check on the rates and quality of the eatables, the DC constituted a team of officers comprising AD FCS&CA, Tehsildar, Food Safety Officer, officials of Legal Metrology Department to conduct inspections in the market to keep check on overcharging and availability of quality eatables.
The Chief Medical officer was directed to make Medicare facilities at Eid Gah and Jamia Masjid Udhampur during the festival, while District Police was asked to deploy adequate police personnel in traffic jam prone places of the town.
Meanwhile, the shopkeepers have been directed to display the rate lists of eatables prominently in their shops for the consumers.
In his message, the DC extended warm greetings to the people of the district on the auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Azha in advance.
