‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’: Information Deptt B’la holds Plantation Drive in Uri
Media fraternity actively participates in the Cleanliness drive
BARAMULLA, AUGUST 09: In anticipation of the 77th Independence Day and to commemorate the martyrs who laid their lives in the honour of the country, the District Information Centre Baramulla collaborated with the media fraternity of Sub Division Uri and organized a significant plantation drive as part of the ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’ campaign.
The event was graced by the presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate Uri, Javaid Ahmad, who commenced the event by planting a tree in the lawn of the SDM Office Uri. The initiative saw active participation from members of the media fraternity from across the sub-division Uri.
During the event, trees were planted in the lawn of the SDM office, symbolising a living tribute to the martyrs. The act of planting these trees serves as a gesture of respect besides a lasting legacy that will continue to remind future generations of the bravery and sacrifice of these national heroes.
The SDM emphasized the importance of the ’Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’ campaign in his address, highlighting its role in the ongoing celebrations of India’s 77th Independence Day.
He further remarked that planting trees in honour of the martyrs not only ensures their memory is preserved but also contributes to the environment, symbolizing growth, continuity, and the enduring spirit of those who have served the nation.
