‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’: Plantation Drives held across Bandipora

BANDIPORA, AUGUST 12: In a heartfelt tribute to the sacrifices of national martyrs, the municipalities across Bandipora district conducted a series of plantation drives under the theme ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam.’

This initiative aimed to bolster green cover and advance environmental sustainability throughout the district.

The plantation drives were conducted in Sumbal, Bandipora, and Hajin, with more than 250 trees, including willow, pine, and Cyprus, being planted.

Municipal Committee (MC) Sumbal conducted planatation drive at the solid waste management facility while as MC Hajin conducted plantation drive near the Tehsil office, Higher Secondary School, and Government Girls School and MC Bandipora conducted plantation drives at Ward 06-DC office road and Kaloosa.

Executive Officer Ajaz Ahmad, who oversees all three municipalities, emphasized that the primary objective of these drives was to honor the nation’s heroes. The planted trees will serve as a living reminder of their valor and sacrifice, while also contributing to the enhancement of the district’s green spaces.

In addition to the plantation drives, MC Bandipora also organized a Tiranga Rally as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
