Election Expenditure Observer conducts extensive Visit to Zainapora, Shopian Assembly Segments

SHOPIAN, NOVEMBER 15: In an effort to ensure free and fair elections, the Election Expenditure Observer conducted a comprehensive visit to various locations across the legislative assembly segments of 36-Zainapora and 37-Shopian.


The Observer checked forest nakas, police nakas, and SST nakas to assess the readiness and effectiveness of seizing of illegal cash, illicit liquor, drugs, narcotics and gifts/ freebies which may be used for inducement of voters.


During the visit, the observer held a detailed discussion with the VST team at Batpora, urging them to heighten their vigilance as polling day approaches. The observer then proceeded to Keegam Forest Naka, where he emphasized the importance of scrutinizing vehicles for illegal timber to maintain a fair electoral process.


At Chitragam, the observer instructed the police naka officials to be proactive in observing illegal activities for inducement of voters during the approaching crucial days before polling, ensuring that law enforcement plays a critical role in upholding election fairness.


At Aglar, the police party received directives from the Expenditure Observer to prevent the movement of illicit drugs, liquor and cash with a clear mandate for immediate action if any violations were noticed. The same directions were imparted to the SST teams at Babapora and Wachi also.


This extensive visit underscores the commitment of election authorities to maintaining the highest standards of free and fair poll.
