Employment & Industries Department conduct awareness programme at Banihal

RAMBAN, JULY 18: On the discretion of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, an awareness programe regarding various Self Employment Schemes under Mission Youth J&K and the Schemes of Industries Department, was conducted today at Town Hall, Banihal. The programme was conducted in coordination with District Industries and Commerce Department and Lead Bank Manager Ramban, aiming at generation of mass awareness among the unemployed Youth of Banihal Sub-Division.


DDC Member, Imtiaz Ahmed Khanna and SDM Banihal, Rizwan Asgar were present in the programme as guests of honor.


Assistant Labour Commissioner Ramban, Amit Kumar, having additional charge of Assistant Director Employment Ramban briefed about the schemes of Mission youth like MUMKIN, Tejaswini and Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiatives. He elaborated the eligibility conditions, benefits and procedure of applying, in-depth. Functional Manager DIC Ramban, Sartaj Singh awared the youth about the PMEGP scheme and its benefits.


SDM Banihal addressed the youth and encouraged them to enroll in Government run Self-Employment schemes like PMEGP, Tejaswini, Mumkin, SEI under Mission Youth, etc and to avail the benefits of schemes to become self-reliant. He assured that such awareness camps shall be conducted on regular basis in the subdivision and Block level. Further he requested the unemployed youth of subdivision Banihal to maximize the participation in such awareness camps.


SDM in presence of ALC Ramban also disbursed the Employee Compensation Amount of 12.19 lakh in favour of dependents of Imtiaz Ahmed Kumar who lost his life in an accident working at Khari Ramban.


Lead bank Manager Ramban elaborated the sponsoring mechanism of the government Sponsored self employment cases, under various self-employment schemes at Bank level.


Various queries were raised by the youth regarding the delay of processing of the cases at the bank stage. The LDM assured that the proper SOP shall be followed to prevent unnecessary delay at bank level. At the end he described the benefits/ eligibility and procedure to apply under PM Vishwakarma Scheme for local artisans.


The camp was also attended by various labourers/ construction workers, to whom ALC Ramban gave detailed information about welfare schemes being provided by the JKBOCWWB. He briefed the new rates of the education assistance to be provided to the wards of the registered construction workers applicable from this financial year 2024-25.


On-the-spot renewal and registration of labourer cards was done by the DEOs and CSC operators.


Various complaints were also resolved on the spot regarding the renewal and registration of the labour card.


At the end of the program, Career Counseling Officer Ramban thanked esteemed guests and the participants.
