Empowering Girls through Education: Programme under BBBP held at Gurez

BANDIPORA, JULY 02: The Department of Social Welfare Bandipora organized a significant event under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative at Higher Secondary School Dawar Gurez.


The program aimed to empower young girls by promoting education and gender equality was presided over by Mission Director, Mission Shakti Jammu and Kashmir, Harvinder Kour.


The event saw enthusiastic participation from girls from various schools across Gurez. Engaging activities highlighted cultural diversity and educational achievements.

Inspiring speeches and interactive sessions celebrated the potential of every girl child, emphasizing inclusive development in remote areas like Gurez.

In her speech, M Mission Director elaborated on the key components of Mission Shakti and their significance in empowering women and girls. During the interactive session, the Mission Director engaged with students from different schools, encouraging them to share their needs and concerns. The students highlighted various issues, advocating for better resources in their schools.

The Mission Director felicitated the top academic performers of the 10th and 12th examinations from the last academic session, recognizing their hard work and outstanding achievements with mementos and certificates. Informative pamphlets on services like Child Helpline, One Stop Centers, DHEW, etc., were distributed among students, providing essential information on available support resources.
