Empowering Women through Awareness: Mission Shakti Event held at Kashtigarh
DODA, January 11: An impactful awareness program orchestrated by DHEW Mission Shakti Doda unfolded today at Zarger Mohalla, Kashtigarh. Under the insightful direction of the District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Qazi, the event marked a collaboration between DHEW Mission Shakti Doda, the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Department, and JKRLM.
The primary focus of the program was to sensitize women about various women-centric welfare schemes such as Old Age Pension (OAP), Pension for Childless Parents (PCP), Widow/Divorce Pension, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), and Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSSY). These schemes aim to provide financial assistance and support to women in different stages of life.
Additionally, the awareness initiative shed light on women’s income generation schemes like Tejaswini, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), and Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI). These programs empower women by fostering economic independence and entrepreneurship.
The comprehensive event didn’t stop at welfare schemes; it extended its outreach to create awareness under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, emphasizing the importance of educating and uplifting the girl child. Furthermore, the initiative actively contributed to the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, addressing the critical issue of substance abuse in the community. The collaborative effort aimed to create a more informed and empowered female populace in the region.
