The initiative, launched by LG J&K in November 2020, aims to provide a viable livelihood to individuals aged 18-35 in the Jammu & Kashmir region.

The DC handed over 4 commercial mini load carriers and 4 passenger vehicles to selected applicants here at a simple ceremony  at the District Employment and Counselling Centre. The ceremony marked the delivery of vehicles to 8 approved applicants who received keys, selected vehicles, and necessary documentation to kickstart their livelihoods.

The event witnessed the presence of Idress Lone, Deputy Director of the Employment and Counseling Centre, Imtiyaz Ali, Employment Officer, along with other officials from the district employment and counseling center.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of effective implementation of government schemes and urged the beneficiaries to drive responsibly.

Highlighting the success of the Mumkin and Tejaswini schemes, the DC expressed how these initiatives have proven beneficial for the unemployed youth of the district. Under the Mumkin scheme, a total of 152 vehicles have been provided to eligible youth so far, costing around Rs 130 lakh.

The primary objective of the MUMKIN scheme is to empower the youth by facilitating their entry into the transport sector, ensuring a sustainable livelihood. This is achieved by providing financial assistance to purchase small commercial vehicles, aiding individuals in establishing a secure means of income.

The distribution ceremony served as a significant step towards enabling the youth to create a stable source of livelihood, contributing to the economic development of the region through entrepreneurship in the transport sector.
