“Entire opposition is with govt to take action against Pakistan”: Rajasthan LoP Tika Ram Jully
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], April 29 (ANI): Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, Tika Ram Jully, on Tuesday called for unity in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, affirming that the entire opposition stands with the government in taking firm action against Pakistan.
Speaking to ANI, Jully also highlighted Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s call for a special session of Parliament to address the national crisis, urging all political parties to come together to combat terrorism.
“A major terrorist attack took place in the nation, and the entire nation is very sad…Why was there a security lapse? The entire opposition is with the government to take action against Pakistan. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to PM Modi to convene a special session of Parliament in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. This is the time when everyone needs to work together and fight against terrorism,” the Rajasthan LoP said.
Earlier, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting a special session of Parliament to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
The attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people, has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for action against those responsible.
The Congress leaders have expressed their willingness to work with the government in the fight against terrorism. The Congress demanded that the government take action against those responsible for the attack and ensure accountability for the security lapse.
In his earlier letter, Rahul Gandhi stated that the attack had outraged every Indian and emphasised the need for a unified response.
“The terrorist attack in Pahalgam has outraged every Indian. At this critical time, India must show that we will always stand together against terrorism,” the letter reads.
The attack in Pahalgam on April 22 is one of the deadliest attacks in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken strong measures against Pakistan for its support of cross-border terrorism. (ANI)
