Establishment of Solid Waste Management Plant discussed in Poonch

POONCH, APRIL 25: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting today at the DC Office complex to review the establishment of solid waste management plants in the district.


The meeting aimed to address the growing concerns regarding waste disposal and explore sustainable solutions for the same.


Key discussions included planning and implementing a comprehensive solid waste management system, which encompasses collection, transportation, segregation, processing, and disposal methods.


Officials from different line departments gave updates on the implementation status of Solid Waste Management Rules to bridge the existing gaps in solid and liquid waste management in the district.


The Deputy Commissioner directed the relevant authorities to Identify potential sites for waste management structures, create a detailed plan for the transportation of solid waste to these sites, mark all SBM structures for waste management on a GPS map and compile all relevant records for submission to the office as soon as possible.


The meeting was attended by ADC Tahir Mustafa Malik; ACR Mohammad Sayeed; EXEN PWD Poonch/Surankote, Tehsildars from Haveli, Surankote, and Mandi, BDO Poonch, EO Municipal Council Poonch, MC Surankote and other concerned officials.
