Expenditure Observer conducts 1st scrutiny of candidates’ accounts in Poonch District

POONCH, SEPTEMBER 14: Election Expenditure Observer for Poonch, Bharat Ramchandra Andhale today conducted the first inspection of accounts and day to day expenditure details of candidates contesting the upcoming Assembly Elections in the district.


The inspection covered all three Assembly Constituencies – Haveli, Surankote and Mendhar. The Observer thoroughly examined the accounts in the presence of Assistant Expenditure Observers from each constituency. The inspection aimed to ensure transparency and compliance with election expenditure norms. As per the Election Commission of India guidelines, the Observer has to conduct three inspections of expenditure during the election period.


Candidates who failed to attend the first meeting or did not get their expenditure statements checked were issued notices, directing them to comply within the stipulated time.


The meeting was also attended by Liaison Officer Shafeeq Malik and Assistant Expenditure Observers from all three assembly constituencies of Poonch district.
