Expenditure Observer conducts comprehensive pre-poll inspection
5 Vehicles seized, rigorous checking initiated to prevent voter inducement & ensure transparent election
SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 17: The Expenditure Observer, Nelapatla Ashok Babu along with Expenditure Monitoring team and the officers and officials of Mineral, Drug Control and Excise departments conducted an extensive tour on pre-poll day, today.
A day-long inspection carried out in District Shopian focused on the seizure of illegal cash, vehicles, illicit liquor, drugs, narcotics, and gifts or freebies potentially intended for voter inducement.
During the visit, three vehicles were seized at Diaro and two vehicles were seized at Aglar fruit mandi.
The Expenditure Observer emphasized the need for rigorous checks in sensitive areas, including Fruit Mandi Aglar and all the entry and exit points of the district.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to prevent the misuse of illegal substances and incentives in the electoral process.
The Expenditure Observer directed the concerned agencies to enhance vigilance and take proactive measures to ensure a fair and transparent election environment.
District Mineral Officer Shopian, Nodal Officer, Expenditure Monitoring, AEO Shopian, AEO Zainapora and Drug Inspectors participated in the daylong actions throughout Shopian and Zainapora Assembly Constituencies.
