Expenditure Observers review working of monitoring teams at Rajouri
RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 07: Expenditure Observers Sanjay Kumar and Sidharth Kumar today reviewed election-related expenditure monitoring procedures at a meeting held here today.
Sanjay Kumar, the Expenditure Observer for AC 83-Kalakote Sunderbani, AC 84-Nowshera and AC 85-Rajouri, was joined by Sidharth Kumar, designated for AC 86-Budhal and AC 87-Thanamandi.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Returning Officers (AROs), Assistant Expenditure Observers (AEOs), and the heads of accounting teams. They discussed essential guidelines for monitoring election expenditure and ensuring adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.
The attendees were thoroughly briefed on their duties and the procedures to be followed during the election process. Emphasis was laid on the meticulous maintenance of the Shadow Observation Register (SOR), a critical document for tracking the campaign expenditure of individual candidates. Additionally, the meeting underscored the importance of maintaining accurate books of accounts for all contesting candidates to ensure transparent monitoring of expenses in accordance with the prescribed limits.
The Observers called for strict vigilance in tracking election-related expenses, including advertising, public meetings, and campaign materials, to prevent any violations of expenditure limits. They also urged the officers to remain proactive in identifying and addressing any discrepancies in the financial reporting by the candidates.
Expenditure Observers Sanjay Kumar and Sidharth Kumar assured the officers of their continued guidance and support throughout the election process, stressing that any violations of the expenditure guidelines would be dealt with strictly to ensure free and fair elections in the district.
