Extensive Tour, Inspection, Field Visit of Border Areas, other villages of Agriculture Sub Division Dayalachack by Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua

KATHUA, August 31:To access and check the infield extent of progress and Government interventions made by Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers’ Welfare Kathua in Sub Division Dayalachak, Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua, Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta visited  various villages of Border Areas, Villages of Marheen and Hiranagar Agricultural Zones of Sub Division Dayalachak on 31 Aug 2023.During the whirlwind tour, Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, CAO Kathua interacted with local farmers from the  areas of Mathra Chak, Chakra, Ganguchak, Chandwan, Sohal, Saida, Hiranagar especially to whom the departmental interventions had been incorporated.

Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta assured full support to farming community in a manner to facilitate them with all support under various schemes.Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua along with Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Dayalachak also visited various Agriculture Fields where millets like Ragi, Barnyard, Bajra, Kangni, Sorghum were being laid by the Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Kathua under  the “International Year of Millets 2023” in villages of Kootah, Saida, Sohal ,Chandwan.During the visit of Border out-Post of Chandwan, Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer, Kathua and Sh. Ashwani Sharma, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Dayalachack interacted with Border Security Officials regarding Border sowing  along Indo Pak international Border in upcoming  Rabi Season 2023-24.

It is pertinent to mention that Agriculture  Department is facilitating farmers of Border Areas in previous years also , and target to bring area of Border Villages under Cultivation for Rabi 2020-23  has been fixed to 400 Acres there by bringing more Farmers from  Villages of Border areas in comparison to 251 Acres of area in 2022-23 .During the meeting with officers and officials at Sub Divisional Agriculture Office Dayalachak, Chief Agriculture Officer ,Kathua, instructed the extension officers and officials to help farmers , facilitate them by providing consistence technical support in timely manner.
