Farmers’ Awareness camp held at Kankote
POONCH, DECEMBER 28: Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing organised an Awareness camp at AGMO Office Kankote Poonch.
The awareness camp was attended by farmers from adjoining areas.
The Farmers were made aware of the Departmental activities including all the Schemes related to HADP and CAPEX Departmental schemes.
AGMO advised farmers to adopt the multiple cropping system and avail schemes launched by UT of JK for the benefits of Farmers community to double their income.
The Farmers Producer Organisation is an effective approach for marginal farmers who can collectively perform well rather than being individuals.
The need to develop local Mandi was also discussed in the camp. The Officer informed that the Mandi will be made functional after the 2nd phase of construction is completed and meanwhile farmers can send their Produce to adjoining mandies of Rajouri and Kashmir division and also to markets of Jammu.
The farmers welcomed the steps taken by different departments for imparting awareness to the farmers regarding the efforts and schemes of the Government by medium of awareness camps.
