Farmers, border people more secure under Modi regime: Sat Sharma

Jammu and Kashmir BJP president, Sat Sharma (CA), while addressing a massive gathering of farmers in border village of Salehar of Bishnah assembly constituency, said that guns on borders are silent now and farmers carrying on their agricultural activities fearlessly.

He was speaking in a programme of BJP Kisan Morcha in the said village, which had the attendance of more than seven hundred farmers.

The programme was organized by Kisan Morcha general secretary Rakesh Pant on the directions of Morcha president S. Sarabjit Singh Johal.

Sat Sharma said that there was a time when people in border villages in particular, felt insecure, as firing from across the borders had become a routine matter. Mortar shells damaged houses, injured and even killed the people. The livestock of the farmers was also not safe. Farmers could not sow crops on time due to fear of firing and suffered economic losses.

“The things have totally changed after 2014 after Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister and gave free hand to security forces to retaliate strongly and it resulted into silencing border firings”; Sat said, adding that the farmers and border people are now more secure, happy and doing their agricultural activities in an atmosphere of peace.

Sat Sharma also listened to the grievances of the farmers and assured to take up their issue of granting ownership rights to the local allottees of custodian land with the concerned authorities.

S.Sarabjit Singh Johal spoke on annual financial assistance of rupees 6000 provided by Narendra Modi government to farmers under Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme

Rajinder Singh Chib, Border district Prabhari, spoke of the need of remaining in regular touch with the people living away from major cities and towns, adding that everyone should be taken care.

Border district president Sunil Dutt, spoke on the numerous schemes of Modi government being availed by the farmers of the area.

MLA, Bishnah, Dr. Rajeev Bhagat, in his address, said that his doors are always open for the people to extend them every kind of help.

Kissan Morcha general secretary Rakesh Pant conducted proceedings of the programme.

Kisan Morcha vice president Satish Shastri, DDC Dharminder Kumar, Narayan Sharma, Bishan Choudhary, Inderjeet Sharma and others, also addressed the programme.
