Fatal assault in Lalbazar, Srinagar: Man arrested for killing Mother-in-Law

In a tragic incident, one Shabir Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Salam Bhat and a resident of Gulshan Bagh Botakadal, was arrested for the alleged assault resulting in the instant death of his mother-in-law at her residence in Lalbazar. The incident has left the community in shock and grief.

The victim, who was originally from Pattan, fell victim to the brutal assault that took place at her house in Botakadal, Lalbazar. The incident led to her immediate demise, leaving her family and neighbors in utter disbelief.

Following the heinous act, the police swung into action promptly, and FIR No. 45/2023 under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Lal Bazar Police Station.

The accused, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, was swiftly apprehended by police and taken into custody for questioning.

The motive behind the tragic incident is yet to be fully ascertained, and an investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances that led to the fatal assault.
