FCS&CA Baramulla organise Awareness Camp at Uri
Director informs that additional quota of rice under PMFSS scheme will be available at ration stores from August 2023
BARAMULLA, August 03: The Department of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Baramulla today organised an Awareness Camp at Boniyar, Uri.
The camp was presided over by the Director FCS&CA Kashmir. Reyaz Ahamd Sofi and was attended by the Assistant Director FCS&CA Department Baramulla, other officers besides large gatherings of public from different sections of the society.
The camp was conducted as a part of deliverables set by the Government to the Department and in light of celebrations of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director FCS&CA Kashmir emphasized that the objective of this camp was to create awareness among the officials in particular and the public in general, regarding their rights and responsibilities as a consumer.
He asked the officials to serve the consumers in a complete professional manner so that they do not face any inconvenience while drawing their monthly ration or for any other issue.
He further informed the general public that the additional quota of rice under the PMFSS Scheme will be made available at ration stores from the month of August 2023. He also said that the Department will open new Fair Price Shops in the unfilled locations, so that the public get ration at ease.
Assistant Director FCS&CA Baramulla informed the gathering that the Department has launched OTP based transaction option for getting monthly ration easily and in a hassle free manner. He also said that the weeding out of in-eligible beneficiaries is being carried out throughout the district.
Various other public representatives also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the department for introducing Aadhar enabled distribution saying that the system has brought more transparency and accountability in the ration distribution process and they are getting ration supply on time.
On the occasion, the Director distributed PHH ration cards among the eligible beneficiaries during the camp and further stressed to all the field functionaries to speed up the process of weeding out of in-eligible beneficiaries, so that eligible left out beneficiaries will be included in the NFSA category.
