FICCI FLO JKL Launches Financial Literacy Program in Collaboration with CIED IUST Foundation at ICA, Srinagar

FICCI FLO JKL, in partnership with the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (CIED)-Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) Foundation, launched a week-long Financial Literacy Program at the ICA Centre in Srinagar.

This initiative aims to empower women students with entrepreneurial ambitions by equipping them with essential financial and technical skills. The first batch of 15 participants, out of a total cohort of 30 students, will receive focused training in Tally, Excel and Word, vital tools for their entrepreneurial journey.

Mrs. Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, thanked CA Shailza Wazir, a valued member of FLO JKL, for facilitating the collaboration and Prof. Parvez Mir, CEO of CIED IUST Foundation, for launching the course to benefit women students by providing access to the National FLO initiative. She emphasized the importance of such programs in enhancing women’s skills and promoting entrepreneurship.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. Parvez Mir, CEO of CIED IUST Foundation, who outlined the foundation’s mission to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship within the academic community. Prof. Mir emphasized the need to cultivate an ecosystem that promotes innovative thinking and real-world problem-solving, preparing students to become future entrepreneurs.

CA Shailza Wazir also addressed the participants, explaining how the program is tailored to women students interested in enhancing their employability or launching their own ventures. She provided insights into the broader vision and mission of FICCI FLO, emphasizing its commitment to empowering women and supporting their entrepreneurial aspirations. The training, delivered at the ICA Centre—recognized for its national-level FLO tie-up—offers digital financial literacy courses.

The curriculum ensures practical exposure to the latest business accounting tools and technologies, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience.

Through advanced simulations and real-world software, students will learn to navigate workplace scenarios, preparing them to overcome challenges they may encounter as entrepreneurs.

In addition to technical skills, CA Wazir stressed the importance of personal development. She covered key topics such as goal setting, the difference between passion and interest, and the creation of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) goals.

This initiative aligns with FLO’s mission to foster entrepreneurship and professional excellence among women. It reflects FLO JKL’s dedication to promoting gender-inclusive economic growth by providing platforms that equip women with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in the business world.
