FICCI FLO JKL Signs MoU with CRC Jammu to Champion Inclusivity for Women and Persons with Disabilities

Jammu, November 25, 2024: In a monumental step toward inclusivity and empowerment, FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh Chapter signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Composite Regional Center (CRC) Jammu. This partnership is dedicated to promoting skill development, socio-economic upliftment, and rehabilitation for women and persons with disabilities. The collaboration reaffirms both organizations’ unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive society where the differently abled can thrive with dignity and independence.

At the event, Ruchika Gupta, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, highlighted the chapter’s focus on meaningful impact & emphasized, “This collaboration is a significant step forward in our mission to empower women and persons with disabilities in the region. We believe in the strength of collective action, and this partnership will ensure that women and persons with disabilities are not just given opportunities but are empowered to take charge of their lives and contribute to society.”

Dr. Rohnika Sharma, Director of CRC-Jammu (Samba), underscored the transformative potential of the initiative & remarked, “Our collaboration with FICCI FLO JKL brings hope for a brighter future for persons with disabilities in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Through skill-building, vocational training, and awareness programs, we are committed to creating a more inclusive and accessible society for all.”

This MoU brings together the expertise and resources of both organizations to uplift marginalized communities, ensuring that women and persons with disabilities are integrated into all aspects of life. The collaboration focuses on developing their potential and equipping them with tools to achieve financial independence, break social barriers, and gain confidence.

The partnership will prioritize areas such as tailored skill development and vocational training programs designed to align with market demands, awareness campaigns to highlight the potential of persons with disabilities, and pathways for meaningful employment by connecting skilled individuals with prospective employers. Additionally, community engagement initiatives will aim to create inclusive environments and foster accessibility in social, educational, and professional settings.

The signing ceremony was attended by the FICCI FLO JKL core team, including Varuna Anand (Immediate Past Chairperson), Mona Saraf (Executive Secretary), Nandita Bajaj (Joint Executive Secretary), and Pooja Gandotra (Joint Treasurer), who pledged their full support to this transformative cause.
