Financial literacy camp held at Kupwara
KUPWARA, OCTOBER 17: The District Fund Office Kupwara on Thursday organized a Financial Literacy Camp at Kupwara.
Participants from different departments including DDOs, representatives of the DDOs and general public were provided financial literacy at the event.
During the camp, experts from the Finance Department and other line departments provided threadbare awareness to the participants regarding the functioning and working of various online applications operated by J&K Finance Department which include the Janbhagidari portal, Treasury Net, BEAMS, JKPaySys, Mera Vetan, Genprofit, GP fund, SLI, DLI, e-tendering, Gem portal etc.
Detailed Training was imparted to participants as to how to access these platforms and take maximum benefit through these applications.
Literacy camp focused on topics such as budgeting, saving, investment, managing debt, and understanding financial products like insurance and retirement plans.
The Chief Accounts Officer, District Fund Office Kupwara also spoke on the occasion and said that the main aim of financial literacy camp organized by fund office Kupwara is to educate participants on managing personal finances, understanding key financial concepts and bridging the technological gaps.
He said that such financial literacy camps empower the individuals to achieve financial independence and security, helping them to navigate economic challenges and opportunities confidently.
He highlighted the importance of online platforms offered by the Finance Department in easing out the pay and accounting work of the DDOs.
Other speakers also deliberated on different topics of financial literacy. Feedback and question answer sessions proved very beneficial for the participants.
