First Aid Training imparted to drivers

JAMMU, January 20: As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month, the MVD Jammu today organized a free health cum eye check up camp here at ISBT Narwal. The camp was organized under the supervision of RTO Jammu Pankaj Bagotra  and on the direction of Transport Commissioner J&K Rajinder Singh Tara, in collaboration with  the Transport Unions.

As many as 200 drivers and conductors participated in the camp and availed themselves of the facility like eye checkup for colour-blindness, defect in eye sight, test to check B.P, Sugar, HB.

Earlier, a team from Red Cross Society also imparted First Responder Training to drivers which would help them to handle any urgency.

Speaking on the occasion, the MVD representatives informed the participants that the aim of organizing such medical camps is to spread awareness among drivers about the significance of personal health and hygiene for the welfare of society. They added that such camps will be organized on a regular basis in future for the drivers as they hold the responsibility to ensure the safety of passengers so they should often keep their health in check and well monitored.

Among other speakers, Parvinder Singh Happy, on behalf of Transport union, welcomed the participants and stressed on drivers to follow traffic regulations strictly for the safety of passengers.

ARTO HQ Rehana Tabassam, ARTO B.O.I (G) Esha Chib, M.V.Is of M.V.D,   Team of Doctors from C.M.O Jammu & Red Cross Society, Representatives from various Transport Unions participated in the event.
